Teaching Philosophy
To teach means more than to pass down one’s knowledge: It is to mentor and facilitate growth, like a gardener attending to his garden, and to pass on one’s spirit and joy to one’s students. Since every student is unique, for students to grow on both musical and personal levels, one-size-fits-all pedagogy is not ideal. It is my personal mission to truly get to know each student and understand what makes them unique, and then create a tailored program for them based on their goals. My goal is to help unlock each student’s creative voice, enable them to translate that into music on the piano, and play with total freedom and expression.
